The Dubai RTA has introduced a new system to help students enhance their observation and decision-making skills while driving.

In the the Independent Driving system recently launched, the student will be asked to drive to a particular destination/route during their RTA road test, without the RTA examiner giving them instructions or directions. Students will be expected to complete the route without any intervention from the examiner.
 
Driving instructors will help students practice independent driving before their road test.

Four route maps will be provided to each student by the instructor, and the student will be trained on how to drive independently on each route.

This addition will not impact the total duration of driving sessions, unless all your minimum classes have already been completed. In this case 1 or 2 additional hours (based on your course) of independent driving training will be added.
