For customers who wish for greater convenience, EDI offers Gold Driving Course, which offers a fast-track training program, overseen by a dedicated client-liaison manager.

The representative will personally guide you during each step of driving license training and will ensure that the course is conducted in the fastest and most efficient manner. 

Our Gold driving course allows you the flexibility of taking the course as per your schedule. From theory lectures, practical training to tests, everything is scheduled swiftly as per your preference and you do not have to follow the basic waiting period.

We offer the Gold courses for LMV (car), for People of Determination, Motorcycle, Heavy Truck, and Light Forklift training.

We use a combination of classroom training,  vehicle simulators, controlled area driving, and open road driving as a part of the training process.

Our methodology maximizes the student's chances of passing the RTA road test by a detailed process that reinforces and tests their skills periodically and applies corrective measures at the earliest stage.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS

1. Original Emirates ID or soft copy of latest Emirates ID from the ICA app
2. A valid visa issued in Dubai and a copy of the visa page
3. The eye test must be completed before the RTA file opening at any of EDI’s main centers (Al Qusais or Al Quoz) or at RTA authorized optical centers in Dubai.
4. Original driving license issued from other country within the same vehicle category (if any): 
   • In case your driving license is not in English or Arabic, please legally translate your driving license only from Dubai.
   • In case of a lost driving license, please seek a letter from the consulate of your country.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR:

Female customers (younger than 21 years) who wish to take training by a male instructor:

1. A no-objection letter signed by the sponsor 
2. A no-objection letter to be signed by self (only for UAE nationals or company visa holders)
3. Copy of the sponsor's Emirates ID

Customers holding Partner visa:

1. Copy of a valid UAE trade license 

UAE Marsoom / Bedouin:

1. Valid and original marsoom letter
2. Valid and original passport 
3. One passport size photograph
4. Eye test report

People of Determination:

1. An original medical report issued from Rashid Hospital (maximum of two years validity)
2. Sanad Card from Community Development Authority (optional)

Pregnant women:

1. A no-objection letter signed by the sponsor 
2. 'Fit to Drive' certificate issued by the consulting doctor.

File transfer from other institutes within Dubai or other-emirates:

1. Original RTA file from the previous driving institute or driving schools. 
2. Clearance letter from the previous driving institute or driving schools signed and stamped by an authorized signatory.
3. Proof of theory lectures attendance
4. Valid or invalid RTA learning permit (not applicable for other-emirates)
5. Training Sheet (if practical training is completed)

Driver visa holders (excluding Taxi Company):

1. Medical fitness report from the RTA approved medical centers or hospitals.

FILE OPENING PROCESS FOR OTHER-EMIRATES

Mandatory documents required for applicants

1. On personal or family-sponsored visa currently residing in Dubai:
   • Valid passport copy & visa copy of the sponsor & applicant
   • Original and valid Emirates ID
   • Valid tenancy contract (Ejari) & electricity bill from DEWA*
   • Eye test report (After approval)
   • Declaration letter from the school or university (if the applicant is a student in Dubai)
   • NOC for professional help (e.g. housemaid, nanny, driver)
     *not required in case the declaration letter is available
      
2. On a company-sponsored visa:
   • Situation 1: Company has a branch in Dubai & currently residing in Dubai:
     1.  Valid passport copy & visa copy of the applicant
     2. Original and valid Emirates ID
     3.  Copy of valid trade license of the Dubai branch of the company. The company name must match the name on the trade license.
     4. NOC to clearly mention that the applicant is working in the Dubai branch of the company.
     5. Eye test (After approval)
         
   • Situation 2: Company does not have a branch in Dubai & currently residing in Dubai:
     (e.g. Applicants on investor or partner visa from other-emirates do not have a branch & currently residing in Dubai)
     1.  Valid passport copy & visa copy of the sponsor & applicant
     2. Original and valid Emirates ID
     3.  Valid tenancy contract (Ejari) & electricity bill from DEWA
     4. Eye test report (After approval)
     5. NOC issued by the company from other emirates if they do not have any branch in Dubai

Our Gold Driving Course gives you the flexibility to take training as per your convenience and schedule. Students can attend the training on any day at any time as per their preference. They are eligible for 4 hours of training (with a break in between) at the Al Qusais or Al Qouz centers.

Training Timings 

• The training timings are from 08:30 am to 05:30 pm with a break from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm
• Students start at 8:30 am and their classes can be scheduled as per their preferences.
• Vehicles are provided by the institute

Training Rules & Regulations:

• Always carry your Emirates ID, and RTA learning permit while attending the practical training, lectures, and tests.
   
• Please arrive 10 mins earlier than your practical training and tests.
   
• Should you fail to report within 10 minutes of your class, you’ll be marked as “ABSENT' and compensatory training will apply by paying for the absent class.
   
• Should you wish to temporarily stop your training, please inform us 48 hours in advance of your scheduled training to avoid absent fees. Please by a call on 04 2631100 or email at info@edi.ae.
   
• Should you wish to stop the classes due to health issues, please inform us 48 hours in advance of your scheduled training to avoid absent fees. It is mandatory to submit a DHA attested medical certificate as proof of absenteeism. Please inform us by a call on 04 2631100 or email at info@edi.ae.
   
• In case your instructor is absent, we will arrange a replacement instructor & should we fail to provide another instructor, your training will be extended accordingly.

Gold Driving Course students have the advantage of taking lectures as per their convenience and time. Our course in-charge helps in organizing lectures in a special lecture hall as preferred by the student.

All students who register for 20/15/10 hours must attend 8 theory lectures available on weekdays and Fridays. Lectures can be attended online lectures in English, Urdu or Arabic or at the Al Qusais or Al Quoz main centers. 

NOTE: The students must bring the Emirates ID and RTA Learning Permit to attend the lectures.

RTA's Remote Interpretation System (RIS)

The service provides remote instant interpretation of driving theoretical tests, conducted by RTA, to driver license applicants in different languages. The step is part of RTA's endeavors to enrich the Smart City initiative and realize its third strategic goal - People's Happiness

How RIS service can be availed?

As per RTA guidelines, students have to submit an application for appointing an interpreter in the preferred language at the time of opening the RTA file and pay the applicable fees.

This service cannot be added at a later stage while booking the Road Test.

Fees

An additional fee of AED 420 applies for RIS besides the RTA theory test fee of AED 310.

Apart from RIS service, RTA also provides a voiceover facility with no extra cost for eight more languages i.e. Urdu, Bangla, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, Malayalam, Russian and Tamil.

Remember to:
•    Obtain your RTA learner's permit prior to your first driving lesson and carry it with you throughout the training period. Renew the permit once it expires.
•    Attend your first and all subsequent driving classes and tests with necessary lenses/ glasses.
•    Not be absent from classes without informing the concerned reception staff 48 hours before class time or you will be charged for the classes.
•    Make proper payments for training and tests on time to avoid unnecessary problems/delays.
